Location and Directions
You can find us on the Ordnance Survey Landranger Map number 194 at Grid Reference ST592108. Click on Get-a-map to go to the Ordnance Survey Website and then on the purple disk saying "I want to get a map now" and enter the grid reference ST592108.
By Road. We are in the village of Yetminster in north Dorset, just 6 miles south-west of the market town of Sherborne and 5 miles south-east of Yeovil.
Driving from Sherborne. Head south out of Sherborne on the A352. Turn right towards Thornford. Drive through Thornford and take the first left to Yetminster. When you enter the village, take the second turning on the left into the High Street. Hound House is the first thatched house on the left.
Driving from Yeovil. Driving south from the Quicksilver roundabout on the A37 in Yeovil, continue for 2.8 miles and then turn left, following the road towards Yetminster you will pass through Ryme Intrinseca. Arriving in Yetminster you will come to a T junction where you should turn left and then right into the High Street. Hound House is the first thatched house on the left.
If you wish to find us on Google, or if you wish to put our postcode (DT9 6LF) into your SatNav, please note that this is likely to show us in the middle of the High Street. We are actually on the west end of the High Street near the Post Office.
By Rail.
SouthWest Trains. Sherborne is our nearest mainline railway station and it is on the South West trains Waterloo to Exeter-St-Davids line. Sherborne is about 10 mins drive or taxi journey and Beaver Cabs (+44 1935 816620) are located at the station.
First Great Western. There is also a railway station in Yetminster village which is just 5 minutes walk from Hound House. Yetminster railway station is on the Bristol to Weymouth line. If you have luggage, please call us and we will come and collect you.
