Dorset’s Attractions

The Coast
The Jurassic Coast is only a 40 minute drive away where there are spectacular walks along the SW coastal path and miles of beaches to explore. It is a geologists’ and fossil hunter’s paradise.

Towards Poole there are more sandy beaches; Studland (National Trust) is a lovely place to swim.

Gardens
We are surrounded by many National Trust and private gardens. My favourites are:
Mapperton Gardens – near Beaminster
Lytes Cary – north of Yeovil
Barrington Court – near Ilminster
Athelhampton – between Dorchester and Poole
Stourhead

The Swans and Indoor Adventure Centre and Farm at Abbotsbury
